A Riding Beam is an electronic or laser beam that is utilized to guide a projectile, such as a drop package or a missile, towards its target. The beam is projected upon the target, whereby the unit can be guided towards the target by focusing on the reflected beam. This zone of reflection is sometimes referred to as the "bucket".[1]
